Adopting a Sheltie

In order to adopt a sheltie from SC Sheltie Rescue, you must first fill out and send in the adoption application. You can find the adoption application, along with pictures and bios of shelties available for adoption at:  http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/SC92.html

 

Surrendering a Sheltie

If you need to surrender a sheltie to our rescue, you know of a sheltie in need, or you work for an animal shelter or another rescue, please call 803-920-0644 and leave a message with your name and phone number. Please make sure you mention you have or know of a sheltie in need in the message since these get first priority attention. You may also e-mail us at: graph1@moore.sc.edu

Join SC Sheltie Rescue for our annual fundraiser event,
Sheltie Fun Day!

 

There will be plenty of fun for you, as well as your sheltie:

Games for you & your sheltie

Silent Auction and prize drawings: we have some excellent items this year, including a round of golf for two (including cart) at Woodlands Country Club in NE Columbia, Free temporary membership and $200 of personal training at SC Barbell gym in NE Columbia, $50 gift certificate for pet sitting from Pup Strutters, Gamecocks merchandise, jewelry, handmade crafts, doggie baskets and much more!

Our vet tech will clip sheltie nails for a small donation

Flyball and agility demonstrations

Enter your sheltie in the Howl-o-ween Costume Contest

Rescue shelties available for adoption will be there to meet you!

 

Directions:

Take I-77 to Exit 12 (Forest Drive/Strom Thurmond Blvd./Fort Jackson);

This is the location of Gate #2 at Fort Jackson (make sure you tell the guard exactly WHERE youÕre going if they try to re-direct you to another gate!);

After passing through the gate, go to the 3rd stop light (just after the Burger King on your left) and turn RIGHT onto Lee St.;

Go to the 2nd stop light and turn LEFT onto Semmes Rd.;

After approx. 1.5 miles (youÕll pass the Officers Club on your right), turn LEFT at the Heise Pond marquis (marquis will say Sheltie Fun Day);

 

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

 

When you pass through Gate #2, be prepared to show the guard your driver license (all adults in vehicle must show i.d.), car registration, and proof of car insurance.

 

All dogs should either be wearing a current rabies tag, or you must be able to provide proof of a current vaccination if asked.

 

All dogs must be leashed.

 

This is a shelties-only event, please leave other breeds at home.

 

A $5.00 per family donation is requested for admittance.
